"This Owl is made of clay and sculpted one at a time. After drying for a week it is bisque fired and then ready to be glazed and fired a second time in my custom raku kiln. Raku is done outside under a lean-to as it produces smoke in the final firing. The owl is taken red hot out of the kiln at 1850 degrees and placed in a container with sawdust and whole oats and newspaper. The fire interacts with the copper in the glaze and the unglazed bottom of the piece is smoke colored. This owl can be ordered in crackle glazes. Look for the other owl listing. This is an example. I will glaze and fire your owl and it will be unique. The copper gaze is always unique as the fire licks the surface and creates a pattern.
The owl is 3 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches wide.
